Tom Jansen qualifies for the NCAA Championships in the 1650 Free

REDLANDS, Calif. – It was recently announced that senior swimmer Tom Jansen (Pleasant Hill, CA) will represent the University of Redlands at the 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which take place on Wednesday, March 15, through Saturday, March 18, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in North Carolina.

In his final season swimming for the Bulldogs, Jansen enters the national meet in the 1650 Free with a qualifying time and program record of 15:43.17 for 15th on the psych sheet.  He swam that NCAA "B" Time when he finished second at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships a couple weekends ago.  He also tied his program record time of 9:29.06 in the 1000 Free.      

Jansen will be the first Bulldog to qualify in the swimming events at the NCAA Division III National Championships since Julia Hagenbaumer in 2020 when she competed in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast and 200 IM.
