REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands will be represented by Sydney Patterson (Hilo, Hawaii) at the NCAA Division III Regional Diving Championships hosted by Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia this coming Friday and Saturday.

This will be the second consecutive diving regional for Patterson after qualifying for the regionals last season where she placed 15th in the 1-meter with a score of 350.2 and 17th in the 3-meter with a score of 322.5.

Patterson qualified for the one and three-meter dives thanks to a 430.55 final score in the 1-meter at the SCIAC Championships this last week. She narrowly missed out on the qualifying score in the 3-meter, but by virtue of qualifying for one event, she gets to dive in both.

Patterson makes Redlands one of only 15 schools in Division III to have a diver qualify. The schedule of events has her diving the three-meters at 11:00 a.m. PST on Friday, February 24 and then on Saturday, February 25, she will dive in the one-meter at 9:00 a.m. PST. If she qualifies in at least one event, she will reach the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina in March, and become the first Bulldog to reach the NCAA Division III National Championships as a diver as of the 2007-08 season.
