The University of Redlands men's and women's swimming & diving programs gained recognition from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as Scholar All-America teams for the 2020 spring semester, as announced by the organization yesterday. In order to qualify, a team must own a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher through the most recent semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.
Redlands joins more than 460 institutions across the country to receive this honor, including 789 men's and women's programs that represent nearly 18,000 student-athletes.
Under the direction of Head Coach Leslie Whittemore, 28 Bulldog women combined efforts for a team GPA of 3.79, while 27 men registered a mark of 3.52 during the spring semester. In addition, the Redlands swimming & diving teams earned this distinction in the fall for a complete year of academic excellence.
All nine Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) institutions gained the honor for both men's and women's swimming & diving teams for an impressive conference highlight.
