Hagenbaumer and Scarano Set to Represent Redlands at 2020 NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championships

It was recently announced that senior swimmer Julia Hagenbaumer (Naperville, IL) and senior diver Sami Scarano (Boulder, CO) will represent the University of Redlands at the 2020 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, which take place on Wednesday, March 18, through Saturday, March 21, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in North Carolina.

In her final season swimming for the Bulldogs, Hagenbaumer enters the national meet in the 100 Breast with a qualifying time 1:04.04 for 21st on the psych sheet. She swam that NCAA "B" time when she topped the podium at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships a couple weekends ago. She was also invited to compete in the 200 Breast and 200 IM.

Scarano is headed to Greensboro as well for the diving side of the competition. Scarano recently competed at the Diving Regionals at Trinity University in Texas and placed third off the 1-meter board before taking home the gold with a first-place score of 386.55 off the 3-meter board.

Scarano is the first Redlands women's diver to head to Nationals since Ashley Uthe in 2003, while Hagenbaumer heads to the national meet after swimmer Wendy McAleer represented the Bulldogs in 2019.
