After an already impressive day one at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Diving Championships taking third place off the 3-meter board, senior Sami Scarano (Boulder, CO) returned to Axelrood Pool on Sunday to take the gold medal off the 1-meter board.

Scarano took the top spot in the 1-meter preliminaries with a score of 403.35 and returned for the finals later in the day to maintain her spot with a first-place score of 422.80.

During the regular season, Scarano consistently took medalist honors off the 1-meter board with her best dive coming against Chapman and Caltech with a score of 265.95.

Scarano also impressed this season with six SCIAC Diver of Week awards.
