Bulldog Swimmers Gain Quality Times on Day One of Winter Invite

Select members of the University of Redlands swimming team represented the Bulldogs with solid results at the 2018 Winter Invite at the Patricia G. Mitchell Swim Stadium on Friday.

For the men, the 200 Free Relay of first-year Samuel Ayers (Orinda, CA), sophomore Eric Forbes (Ladera Ranch, CA), first-year Tanner Gish (La Canada, CA), and senior Aaron Bauer (Garden Grove, CA) took first with a time of 1:26.19.

The Bulldogs' success continued in the 500 Free, as first-year Tom Jansen (Pleasant Hills, CA) clocked a winning time of 4:44.30, while sophomore Jordan Convery (Fairview, OR) finished third by touching the wall in 4:49.65.

Bauer and Ayers provided a formidable one-two punch in the 50 Free by taking first (21.64) and second (21.91), respectively.

On the women's side, sophomore Olivia Cano (Dublin, CA) won the Bonus Final with a time of 2:13.38, while first-year Sydney Nakagawa (Vancouver, WA) took second in 2:14.65.

In addition, first-year Jacqueline Setlich (Laguna Niguel, CA) fired off a time of 25.48 in the 50 Free to finish in a tie for 13th.

Redlands looks forward to competing in day two of the Winter Invite on Saturday, December 1.
