SCIAC Softball Weekly Release No. 12

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Softball Athletes of the Week in the twelfth week of voting and University of Redlands first-year pitcher Katlyn Gandara (Whittier, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. 

Gandara tossed a pair of complete games to record two key wins over fellow title contender Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (6-2 & 4-1). The soft-contact specialist gave up just one earned run on nine hits and four walks while striking out three over 14 innings of work to head into the final week of the regular season as the winningest pitcher in the conference by three games. 

Redlands has their final series this weekend, May 5-6 when they take on Occidental College.  The Bulldogs will travel to Eagle Rock on Friday, May 5 at 3:00pm before hosting the Tigers on Saturday, May 6 for a doubleheader at 12:00pm and 2:00pm at the Field of Dreams.
