It was recently announced by HERO Sports that senior center-fielder AJ Carrasco (Whittier, CA) of the University of Redlands softball team was named to the All-America Team as the sole representative of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

Throughout her final season with the Bulldogs, Carrasco impressed on a national level to cap of a stellar four-year career. While serving as the Maroon and Gray's lead-off hitter and starting center-fielder, Carrasco earned a remarkable .479 batting average that was complemented by a .551 on-base percentage and a .782 slugging percentage. Of her team-pacing 57 hits, she smacked seven doubles, seven triples, and launched five round-trippers. She was a menace on the base-paths by swiping 25 bags while only being caught once. Additionally, she drew 20 walks, drove in 33 RBI, and touched home 44 times.

Carrasco's extended trophy shelf already includes her third All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) First-Team honor, three National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First-Team All-West Region awards, and a pair of NFCA All-America nods.
