Redlands Quartet Collects SCIAC All-Academic Honors for Softball

It was announced on Wednesday by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) that the University of Redlands softball team gained four selections to the All-Academic Team due to their outstanding performances in the classroom.  This year's honorees include junior first baseman Vicki King (Thousand Oaks, CA), junior outfielder Grace Rose (Villa Park, CA), and sophomore outfielders Amanda Ang (Santa Cruz, CA) and Marissa Romero (Manteca, CA).

King, a Communicative Disorders major, and Rose, a Psychology and Sociology double-major, repeat as honorees of the SCIAC's All-Academic award in their third season with the Bulldogs.  Ang and Romero garner the distinction in their first year of eligibility for the honor, as they look to continue their studies in Communicative Disorders and English Literature, respectively. 

To receive this honor, student-athletes must own a 3.40 cumulative GPA or higher, must have completed at least one calendar year at her institution, and must have reached a minimum of sophomore eligibility.  For a complete list of this year's recipients, please visit www.thesciac.org.
