20 Redlands Men's Water Polo student-athletes earn ACWPC Men's All-Academic honors

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced their 2022 Men's All-Academic Awards with 20 University of Redlands Men's Water Polo student-athletes receiving 'Outstanding', 'Superior', and 'Excellent' honors. The twenty recipients are the most in program history dating back to the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) days, which date back to the 2009-10 season. The most all-academic honorees for Redlands in a single season was 13, which happened twice, most recently in 2019-20.  

The ACWPC groups athletes into the three aforementioned categories with athletes with a 4.0-3.71 grade point average (GPA) earning 'Outstanding' honors, 3.70-3.41 getting 'Superior', and 3.40-3.20 receiving 'Excellent' recognition.

Five Bulldogs earned Outstanding honors, which included Spencer Clinton (Cypress, Calif.), Owen DeCourcy (Alameda, Calif.), Andrew Higginson (San Diego), Owen Nishimura (Carlsbad, Calif.), and Max Wagener (Piedmont, Calif.).

Earning the six Superior honors was Michael Driscoll (Escondido, Calif.), Ron Gvishi (Kiryat Tivón, Israel), Brandon Khalil (Bakersfield, Calif.), Michael Maher (Fremont, Calif.), Liam Murphy (Placentia, Calif.),  and Tanner Whitson (St. Louis, Mo.).

Then receiving Excellent recognition for the Bulldogs was Dan Bajda (Lombard, Ill.), Thomas Byrne (Boulder, Colo.), Jack Everett (Westlake Village, Calif.), Eamon Greathouse (Bainbridge Island, Wash.), Curren McCarthy (San Clemente, Calif.), Drake Moody (Camarillo, Calif.), Jake Rose (San Diego), Nathaniel Rucker-Jensen (Agoura, Calif.), and Jack Ryan (Ventura, Calif.).

As a team the 2022 Division III Collegiate National Champions posted a combined GPA of a 3.20.
