REDLANDS, Calif. – The 2021 All-American teams were announced recently by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). First-year attacker Spencer Clinton (Cypress, CA) was the lone representative from the University of Redlands Men's Water Polo team being named Honorable Mention.
Clinton receives recognition from the ACWPC for the first time in his career after leading the Maroon and Grey to a 5-23, 2-12 SCIAC finish. On the year he totaled 36 goals on 74 attempts for a .486 shot percentage. He also added 11 assists, 47 points, 17 drawn exclusions, and 15 steals.
Conference play is where Clinton did his damage leading the team in goals (23), drawn exclusions (8), and shot percentage (.469) while putting together five assists, 28 points, and nine steals.
On the season Clinton scored at least two times on eight occasions with breakout performances coming against the University of La Verne (5 Goals) & (4 Goals), Chapman University (5 Goals) & (2 Goals), No. 8 Johns Hopkins (3 Goals), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (2 Goals), Cal Lutheran University (2 Goals), and Fresno Pacific (2 Goals).
