U of R Men's Water Polo Collects 13 Individual and Team ACWPC All-Academic Awards

It was recently announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) that the University of Redlands men's water polo team and 13 individuals hauled in All-Academic honors for the fall of 2019.

As a team, the Bulldogs' 27 members amassed a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to earn the scholarly nod from the ACWPC.

In addition, 13 Redlands student-athletes received recognition for individual GPAs divided into three categories, including "Outstanding" for GPAs between 3.71 and 4.00, "Superior" for 3.41-3.70, and "Excellent" for 3.20-3.40.

First-years center-defender Michael Maher (Fremont, CA), attacker Jesse Kimie-Brylka (Soquel, CA), and goalkeeper Brandon Khalil (Bakersfield, CA) each collected "Outstanding" accolades for an impressive rookie year.

Senior attackers Kyle Jackson (Naperville, IL) and Carter Kerwin (Bakersfield, CA), and first-years goalkeeper Bryce Elsner (Carlsbad, CA) and center Michael Driscoll (Escondido, CA) each received "Superior" selection.  Jackson collects his fourth such award while Kerwin picks it up for the second time.

Senior center-defender Carl Matthews (Yorba Linda, CA), sophomore goalkeeper Jason Gates (San Jose, CA), first-year goalkeeper Liam Murphy (Placentia, CA), first-year attacker Reed Caron (Rancho Murrieta, CA), first-year utility Ryan Pilotte (Townson, MD) and senior attacker Reece Koe (Camarillo, CA) were among the "Excellent" recipients. This is also Koe's fourth time on the ACWPC All-Academic list after receiving excellent twice and superior once.
