The University of Redlands men's water polo team started anew on Wednesday when it opened Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition with a solid 14-5 victory over the visiting Tigers of Occidental College.  After back-to-back goals from junior driver Keaton Lynn (Oakley, CA) and sophomore driver Michael Robinson (Corona, CA), the Maroon and Gray owned an early lead that it would not relinquish.

The Bulldogs finished off the second frame with a 6-2 advantage, highlighted by junior center-defender Christian Ogawa's (Mira Mesa, CA) eventual game-winner.

Highlighted by four different goal-scorers, Redlands continued to pour on the offense with a five-goal outburst in the third stanza.  Robinson capped off his three-netter effort with two in this period.

The Bulldogs cruised to victory in the fourth frame, with freshman goalkeeper Christian Jamison (San Bernardino, CA) taking over junior goalkeeper Tyler Abbott's (Alta Loma, CA) stellar role in the cage.  Abbott finished with six stops, while Jamison had two.

As the team's leading scorer, junior driver Quinn Curl (San Mateo, CA) notched a goal in each period for a total of four on the day.

Redlands (3-15, 1-0 SCIAC) hosts Whittier College on Saturday in an 11 a.m. showdown with the Poets at the Thompson Aquatic Center.
