Men’s Tennis ranked 30th Nationally, No. 6 in ITA West Region in Final 2023 Poll

2023 Final ITA Division III Rankings

REDLANDS, Calif. – Following a strong 2023 season, the University of Redlands Men's Tennis team finished the year ranked No. 30 in the Intercollegiate tennis Association (ITA) National Rankings, as well as coming in ranked sixth in the ITA West Region.

The team got as high as No. 25 in the National Rankings early in the season en route to a 10-8, 5-2 SCIAC record.  The Bulldogs qualified for the SCIAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed eventually falling 5-4 to No. 2 Caltech forcing them to finish third in the conference standings. 

The No. 1 doubles pairing for the Maroon and Grey of Nils Plutat (Sauerlach, Bavaria, Germany) and Bryce Keim (Spartanburg, S.C.) earned a national ranking for doubles play, taking the No. 11 spot in addition to being the No. 1 team in the West Region.  They went 13-4, 6-1 SCIAC, were both named All-Conference and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships. 

Plutat was also ranked No. 11 in the West Region in singles after posting a 9-6, 3-4 SCIAC record on the season.  Joining him in the regional singles rankings was Stefan Hester (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) at No. 23 who finished with an 8-6, 3-2 SCIAC mark.
