REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Tennis team made quick work of Northwest Conference opponent Whitman College 8-1 at the Verdieck Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs improve to 4-2 after they swept doubles action, while taking five of six singles against the Blues.

Stefan Hester (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) and Jack Mattox (Mercer Island, WA) picked up the first point for the Maroon and Grey at No. 2 winning 8-5.  Luca Davidorf (Atlanta, GA) and Omar Khayat (Irvine, CA) grabbed the second point at No. 3 cruising to the 8-4 win.  But at No. 1 it went the distance as Nils Plutat (Sauerlach, Bavaria, Germany) and Bryce Keim (Spartanburg, S.C.) would need a breaker to edge their opponents 8-7 (3) giving Redlands a 3-0 advantage early.

In singles Plutat was pulled out at No. 1 with everyone moving up a spot and Josh Davydov (Bellevue, WA) jumping in to play at No. 6.  This forced Hester into the top spot for the first time this season and he handled business winning 7-5, 6-2.  Keim played at No. 2 winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, Mattox surrendered just five games at No. 3 winning 6-2, 6-3, Donovan Lilov (San Diego, CA) had a bagel in the first set winning 6-0 before taking the second 7-5.  Khayat, who was coming off a singles win against Bowdoin continued with that momentum winning his second straight match, this time at No. 5 winning 7-6 (6), 6-1.

Davydov getting an opportunity in singles once again made quick work of his opponent winning 6-2, 6-1.
