REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Tennis team picked up their third win on the season Wednesday night cruising past Vassar College 7-2 inside the Verdieck Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs took two of three doubles and then five of six singles to pick up the win as they improve to 3-1.

Nils Plutat (Sauerlach, Bavaria, Germany) and Bryce Keim (Spartanburg, SC) got the Maroon and Grey on the board with an 8-2 win at the top spot followed by Stefan Hester (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) and Jack Mattox (Mercer Island, WA) at No. 2 winning 8-3.  The lone point in doubles for Vassar came at No. 3, but they needed a breaker to pick it up as first-years Luca Davidorf (Atlanta, GA) and Josh Davydov (Bellevue, WA) battled falling 8-7 (3).

The momentum carried over into singles for the Bulldogs as Mattox collected the third point winning 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4.  Plutat followed with a straight sets win at No. 1 rolling 6-3, 6-0 and first-year Omar Khayat (Irvine, CA) in his first career start grabbed the clinch at No. 6 taking it 6-3, 6-1.  Redlands continued to pour it on as Keim grinded out a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 3 moving the score to 6-1 and Hester finished things off with a break in both sets at No. 2 taking it 6-4, 6-4.

The final point for Vassar came at No. 5 as Davidorf would drop a 6-2, 7-5 decision.

Redlands returns to the court Friday, March 10 at 3:00pm when they take on No. 37 Christopher Newport inside the Verdieck Tennis Center.
