Quality Quartet Represents Bulldog Men's Tennis on All-SCIAC Teams

It was announced earlier today that four University of Redlands men's tennis student-athletes collected All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) honors, as nominated by and voted upon by the head coaches of the member institutions.  Sophomore Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) and senior Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) represent the Bulldogs on the First Team, while senior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) and junior Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) landed on the Second Team.

Lipscomb repeats as a First-Team selection in back-to-back years.  During the Bulldogs' second-place showing in the conference, he shored up the No. 1 slot in singles and posted a 4-4 record that included a 6-4, 6-2 victory over his counterpart from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.  He also teamed up with freshman Brad Cummins (Rancho Mirage, CA) at No. 3 doubles for an impressive 7-2 mark against SCIAC competition.  Furthermore, Lipscomb and sophomore Adrian Nilsson-Redman (Irvine, CA) added a win to his repertoire during the team's mid-April match against Caltech. Lipscomb looks forward to competing at the NCAA Individual Championships for Singles later this month.

Wilson gains his second All-Conference nod but makes his inaugural appearance on the First Team with this year's award.  While competing at the No. 2 slot in singles, he put together a 6-2 record against SCIAC foes, as highlighted by a pair of critical wins in both of Redlands' positive outcomes against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.  In doubles, Wilson and senior Tom Suchodolski (Amherst, MA) provided great consistency and success as an undefeated duo at the No. 3 slot in conference competition.  Wilson and sophomore Thomas Hanley (Winnetka, CA) joined forces for another win against Occidental College to bring Wilson's doubles record to 10-0 in conference competition this season.  Finally, Wilson was named the first alternate for the NCAA Individual Championships for Singles.

With spots on the Second Team, Dulle and Ly each collect their second All-SCIAC awards.  As the Bulldogs' top doubles team, they fired off a 7-3 showing in conference competition, which includes a recent 8-6 victory against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.  The dynamic duo now heads to the NCAA Individual Championships for Doubles in Chattanooga, TN.

Furthermore, Dulle recorded a 5-2 singles record while primarily competing at the No. 3 position this season.  His biggest win came against Pomona-Pitzer during the team's first meeting in which he clinched the Bulldogs' comeback victory.

Throughout his final campaign, Ly secured the No. 4 slot in singles with a 4-2 effort but also posted a pair of wins at No. 3.
