No. 11 Redlands Men's Tennis Sends Four to NCAA Individual Championships

It was announced earlier today that four members of the No. 11 University of Redlands men's tennis team qualified for the NCAA Division III Individual Championships, which take place May 25-27 at The Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, TN.

Sophomore Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) will represent the Bulldogs in singles, while senior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) and junior Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) will compete in doubles.  In addition, senior Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) was named as the first alternate for singles, should someone scratch from the 32-player tournament.

Lipscomb makes his second-consecutive appearance at the national tournament following his inaugural showing as a freshman.  While playing at the top of the Maroon and Gray's singles lineup, he owns an overall record of 17-8, which includes wins over opponents from No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, No. 5 Wesleyan University (CT), and No. 10 Williams College (MA).

Wilson remains hopeful for competing in his first individual championships as this year's first alternate behind the selected 32 singles players.  As the Bulldogs' No. 2 singles player, he compiled an overall record of 17-6 that was highlighted by a pair of five-match winning streaks.

Dulle and Ly look forward to returning to the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row.  The talented tandem garnered All-America honors after finishing the 2016 season as the eighth-ranked team in the nation.  This season, Dulle and Ly earned a 14-10 record as Redlands' top doubles duo.  Most recently, they advanced all the way to the final of the main doubles draw at the highly-competitive Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament.
