The No. 18 University of Redlands men's tennis team squared off against the No. 30 Brandeis College (MA) Judges in a non-conference bout on Friday afternoon on Verdieck Courts.  The Bulldogs used a sweep in doubles to propel them to a solid 7-2 victory.

The Maroon and Gray jumped out to a quick start with an efficient showing at the No. 3 slot in doubles, as seniors Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) and Tom Suchodolski (Amherst, MA) cruised to an 8-3 win.  The momentum stayed with the Bulldogs, with sophomore Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) and freshman Brad Cummins (Rancho Mirage, CA) taking care of business against the No. 2 opponents by a score of 8-6.  Finally, junior Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) and senior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) completed the doubles sweep with their 8-5 victory at the top spot.

In singles, Redlands wasted little time in putting this one in the books, as the first two matches off the courts came in favor of the home team.  Lipscomb impressed at No. 1 with his 6-4, 6-4 showing, while Wilson clinched the deciding point with a 6-3, 7-6 (9) triumph at No. 2.

The Bulldogs also gained positive outcomes in straight sets from Ly and freshman Avery Davis (Jensen Beach, FL) at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively.

Redlands (2-1) opens Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition on Saturday, February 25, when it welcomes Occidental College to Verdieck Courts for a 10 a.m. showdown.
