Three Bulldog Men's Tennis Players Selected for NCAA Individual Championships

It was announced earlier today that three student-athletes from the No. 15 University of Redlands men's tennis team have been selected to compete in the 2016 NCAA Division III Individual Championships, which take place May 26-28 at Kalamazoo College in Michigan.  Freshman Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) has qualified for the singles competition, while sophomore Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) and junior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) will represent the Bulldogs in the doubles draw.

In dual-match competition, Lipscomb has fired off a 21-3 singles record in his rookie campaign at Redlands.  Originally competing at Nos. 2 and 3, he began the season by winning 17 of his first 18 matches, with 14 of those coming in straight sets.  He captured his 12th victory on March 19 when he took down the No. 1 player from Occidental.  Since then, he has shored up the top slot of the line-up, earning a 10-2 mark to close out the regular season.

While making their national debut, Dulle and Ly enter the NCAA tournament with a 15-6 record in dual matches as the Bulldogs' top tandem.  Most recently, the duo went undefeated in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition with six wins.  Furthermore, Dulle and Ly have earned nine wins over counterparts from nationally-ranked squads.

The individual championships include 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The singles and doubles draws will be announced on Wednesday, May 25.
