Bulldog Quintet Garners Spot on SCIAC All-Academic Men’s Tennis Team

It was announced on Wednesday that the University of Redlands men's tennis team was well-represented on the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Academic Team with five honorees.  Seniors Taylor Hunt (Seattle, WA), Gram Leahy (Portland, OR), Max Licona (Los Angeles, CA) and Patrick Lipscomb (Irvine, CA), along with sophomore Tom Suchodolski (Amherst, MA), receive the distinction due to their outstanding success in the classroom.

After completing their respective degrees in Accounting and International Relations, Leahy and Licona receive their third and final all-academic award from the conference.

Hunt and Lipscomb also have graduated from Redlands and collect their second such accolade from the SCIAC.  Earlier this spring, Hunt finished up his Psychology degree, while Lipscomb earned a degree in Global Business.

Suchodolski, a Global Business major, garners his inaugural honor in his first year of eligibility for the award.

The quintet played a significant role in the Bulldogs' 17-8 showing that resulted in the program's 12th top-15 final national ranking since the 2000 season.

To receive the SCIAC's All-Academic honor, student-athletes must own a 3.40 cumulative GPA or higher, must have completed at least one calendar year at his institution, and must have reached a minimum of sophomore eligibility.  For a complete list of this year's recipients, please visit www.thesciac.org.
