Boasting an overall record of 14-5-0 and a 12-4-0 mark in SCIAC, the Bulldog men's soccer team secured its third-straight and 13th conference title in the last 16 years. Head Coach Ralph Perez continues to combine his in-depth knowledge of the sport and inspiring presence to lead the team to success among the conference and beyond. The 2016 team owns a 4-2-0 record against the tournament field.  Redlands holds a 7-2 goal-differential when playing the Stags this season, with a 2-1 win coming on Farquhar Field on September 14 and a 5-1 road-win on October 8. Highlighting those games, junior forward Chase Boone (Beaverton, OR) and junior forward Alexander Knox (Seattle, WA) accounted for five of the Bulldogs' seven goals.

The Maroon and Gray owns a conference save percentage of .750, thanks to the agility and sharpness of both junior goalkeepers, Josh Haskill (Lakewood, CA) and John Melito (Keller, TX). The team's defensive unit of senior Austin Moore (Las Vegas, NV), juniors Ben Thompson (Spokane, WA) and Keoni Yates (Kailua-Kona, HI), and sophomore Spencer Scott (Beaverton, OR) has led the team to an impressive goals-against average of 0.98 in conference games.

Offensively, Boone ranks first in the conference with 15 goals and 34 points, while junior midfielder Casey ChubbFertal (Eugene, OR) provides masterful organization and facilitation on both ends of the field for the Bulldogs.  He has notched seven goals and eight assists so far this season.

Furthermore, Redlands relies on additional fire power to ignite the offense, as Knox, junior midfielder Sergio Valencia (San Jose, CA), and sophomore forward Kayvon Parsa (West Hills, CA) have served as huge contributors by totaling 13 assists and 14 goals, five of which were game-winners, in 2016.

The Bulldogs look forward to squaring off against CMS for the third time this season.  The Stags own an overall record of 11-6-1 to go along with a 9-6-1 showing in conference.  As the fourth-seeded team, CMS is 0-6 against the tournament field.

Freshman forward Patrick Burke (Los Altos, CA) and junior defender Jacob Skoll (Solana Beach, CA) recorded CMS' only two goals against the Bulldogs this season. Burke is also second among the Stags with six goals, ranking behind senior forward Mehron Abdi (Kenmore, WA), who totals seven. Abdi also ranks fourth in the conference in shots with 55.

Led by junior goalkeeper Daniel Cui (Foster City, CA), the Stags' defensive corps of Skoll, seniors Elijah Lichtenberg (Beverly Hills, CA) and Cole Mora (Seattle, WA), sophomore Patrick Thomas (Santa Barbara, CA), and freshman Adam Singer (San Francisco, CA) boasts a fifth-in-conference, goals-against average of 1.27. Cui totals 1,131 minutes of overall play and registers a .704 save percentage for the current campaign.

In the other semifinal, the second-seeded University of La Verne Leopards play host to the third-seeded Chapman University Panthers at 7 p.m. on Thursday in La Verne.

The Leopards hold a 14-4-1 overall record, an 11-4-1 mark in conference, and a 4-1-1 mark against the tournament field. La Verne tied the Chapman Panthers, 3-3, in their first meeting in La Verne and then edged them in a 1-0 decision, as senior midfielder Justin Funes (Buena Park, CA) netted the sole score in the 86th minute.

Chapman boasts an overall record of 13-4-2, a 10-4-2 showing in conference, and a 3-2-1 mark against the tournament qualifiers.

The Redlands-CMS winner will face the winner of the La Verne-Chapman match in Saturday's championship contest on November 5 at the highest remaining seed's home field at 7 p.m.
