VENTURA, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Golf team completed their three rounds at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships Tuesday afternoon posting a 285, their lowest round of the tournament and tying for their lowest among all seven total rounds.

Redlands came into the championships in third place in the overall standings and that is where they finish as No. 6 (according to Golfstat) Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) wins the team title, while earning the automatic bid into the NCAA Division III National Championships, and Pomona-Pitzer(P-P) take second.

The Bulldogs finished their three rounds with an 863 and a 2045 point total across seven rounds. Their overall score is 25 strokes better than last year and the program's lowest in the SCIAC Championship seven-round history. They were one of only two teams, along with CMS, that had a lower score each round over the three days.

Four of the Bulldogs five golfers finished back-to-back-to-back-to-back with No. 65 Aaron Buck (Tualatin, OR) finishing in a tie for 10th, followed by Joshua Fambro (Taos, N.M.) in 13th, and Spencer Leader (Oakland, CA) and Zane Mularski (Spokane, WA) in a tie for 14th.

Buck ended his first SCIAC Championships with a one under 215 (71-71-73). Fambro, who was tied with Buck, shot a final round 75 as he finishes two strokes behind his teammate with a 217 (71-71-75).

A stroke back of Fambro sat the Bulldogs' No. 3 golfer, Leader, who sat in 28th after two rounds, but a final round 66 moved him up a tournament best 14 spots into a tie for 14th.  His 66 is a new collegiate low and slots him into a tie for the fourth lowest single-round performance. He also moves from the 11th best performing golfer down to third.

Mularski also tied for 14th with his best round coming on the final day, an even par 72, as he finished a two over par 218 (73-73-72). He was one of only eight golfers that had all of his rounds at, below, or no more than one stroke above par. Jake Yim (Lake Oswego, OR) shot a 74, his best round, as he finished 27th with a 225 (75-76-74) nine over par.

The Bulldogs will hope for an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III National Championships, but with only one team in the SCIAC ranked inside the Top-25 and the next highest ranked team, No. 26 California Lutheran University (CLU), finishing tied for fourth overall, it is unlikely more than one at-large will be awarded to the conference, let alone two.
