Redlands Men's Golf leads field at Winona State Warrior Invitational

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The University of Redlands Men's Golf team returned to competition with day one action at the Winona State Warrior Invitational hosted at The Legacy Golf Club as they lead a field of eight teams through round one following a 293 (+5).  

The Bulldog lead is only one, though, as Division II Northeastern State University (NSU), who is receiving coaches poll votes, shot a 294. One additional stroke behind NSU is the host and fellow DII school Winona State University who shot a 295 in the first round. Of the seven teams the Bulldogs are in front of, four are Div. II schools, one, University of Detroit Mercy, is DI, and another two are Canadian Universities.

On the player leaderboard Spencer Leader (Oakland, CA) sits in a tie for fourth along with Aaron Buck (Tualatin, OR) who both shot pars on the 7,107-yard, par 72 course. The third Bulldog sitting inside the Top-10 is Zane Mularski (Spokane, WA) who tied for ninth and is two strokes over par following a first round 74.

The round one leader shot a 64 with second and third place shooting a 68 and a 69, putting Buck and Leader only four strokes back of second place with 36 Holes left to play.

The Bulldogs will begin Round 2 at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, March 10 in Las Vegas.
