SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Redlands men's golf team shot a 304 in round one and then a 298 second round for a first day total of 602 at the San Antonio DIII Shootout at the Par 72 TPC San Antonio Oaks Course.

The Bulldogs sit 26 strokes over par and were in fifth place through round one before they moved up two spots to third place. The top two teams are Southwestern University and the host school, Schreiner University.

Leading the way individually for Redlands is the No. 41 player in the nation Aaron Buck (Tualatin, OR) who is tied for fifth at one over par following a 73-72.

The second highest Bulldog is Zane Mularski (Spokane, WA) who is in a tie for ninth at four over par. Mularski made a 13-position jump from round one to round two thanks to a second round 71, a six-stroke improvement over round one.

If the Bulldogs are to make a push for a top-2 finish, they are eight strokes behind second place, they will need the No. 12 player in the country and the highest ranked golfer in the tournament, Joshua Fambro (Taos, N.M.), to improve upon his 20 over par which has him tied for 44th.

The Bulldogs final day in San Antonio will be today with the third and final round of golf as they look to continue their comeback against a pair of Texas schools.
