SCIAC Preseason Men's Golf Coaches Poll

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2023 Men's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll with the University of Redlands predicted to finish in a tie with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) for the top spot in the conference.

The Bulldogs and Stags each received three first place votes and 57 points. Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) and La Verne picked up one first place vote.

Redlands will begin their spring schedule ranked No. 7 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches' Poll, while CMS sits at No. 13 and PP at No. 17.

Head coach Jamie Zantua has led the Bulldogs to a second-place finish at the SCIAC Championships in each of his four seasons, though, he will be looking to get them back to the NCAA Division III National Championships for the first time since 2019 when they took 17th.

The Bulldogs lost 1st Team All-SCIAC member Kyle Sharp who is now an assistant coach and 2nd Team All-SCIAC performer Jared Stone.  But they do return two-time 1st Team All-SCIAC player and 2021 SCIAC Athlete of the Year, Joshua Fambro (Taos, N.M.). They also have Spencer Leader (Oakland, CA) who was the SCIAC Championships individual runner-up last year.

Redlands opens their Spring schedule this Saturday-Sunday, February 11-12 at SCIAC No. 1 hosted by Pomona-Pitzer in Long Beach at El Dorado Golf Club.
