2023 University of Redlands Men's Golf Schedule

REDLANDS, Calif. – University of Redlands Head Men's Golf Coach Jamie Zantua officially released his 2023 Schedule Tuesday, which includes three tournaments within conference and trips to San Antonio, TX, Las Vegas, NV, and Jekyll Island, GA.

The Bulldogs ended their fall portion of their schedule ranked No. 7 Nationally by Golfstat and the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches' Poll. In the individual rankings Joshua Fambro (Taos, N.M.) is the highest ranked Bulldog, ranking as the fifth-best payer in the country and joining him is Aaron Buck (Tualatin, OR) at No. 25 and Spencer Leader (Oakland, CA) at No. 53. 

Redlands will open up their spring competition at SCIAC No. 1 (El Dorado Golf Club) hosted by Pomona-Pitzer on February 11-12.  There are a total of six regular season competitions with a seventh if they qualify for the NCAA Championships in May.

Wrapping up the month of February the Maroon and Grey will travel to San Antonio, TX to take part in the San Antonio Shootout (February 20-21 | San Antonio, TX | TPC San Antonio). 

In March the Bulldogs will travel out of state twice to the Winona State Warrior Invitational (March 9-11 | Las Vegas, NV | Legacy G.C.) and the Jekyll Island Invitational (March 17-19 | Jekyll Island, GA | Jekyll Island G.C.). 

April brings with it the remaining conference schedule with SCIAC No. 2 taking place in Pomona, CA at Mountain Meadows G.C. on April 1-2.  At the end of the month the SCIAC Championships will take place on April 23-25 (Ventura, CA | Olivas Links G.C.).           

During the fall portion of the schedule, the Bulldogs took second at the California State Intercollegiate to open the season. The Bulldogs beat out a pair of Top-25 teams in SCIAC rivals Cal Lutheran (CLU) who currently rank No. 23 and Pomona-Pitzer who are ranked No. 15

A week later at the Bulldog Fall Invitational they took home the title after overcoming an eight-stroke deficit after the first two rounds. In doing so they beat out No. 8 Willamette, No. 17 Schreiner, No. 15 Pomona-Pitzer, No. 14 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS), and No. 23 Cal Lutheran. Fambro tied for fourth and posted a first-round 66, which moved him into third for the lowest single-round score in program history. Leader also made a move in the single-round records, moving to No. 11 with a 67 third-round score.

Redlands ended their fall schedule at the ERAU Invitational (Prescott, AZ | Antelope Hills G.C.) and picked up their second team win.    

Previous Trips

  • SCIAC No. 1 (El Dorado G.C.): The Bulldogs have not played at El Dorado G.C. as of the Spring 2008. At SCIAC No. 1 in 2022 they finished in a tie for 2nd, which was also at Olivas Links G.C.
  • San Antonio Shootout (TPC San Antonio): The Bulldogs played in this event a year ago on this same course and took fifth.
  • Winona State Warrior Invitational (Las Vegas, Legacy G.C.): They took fifth at this competition last season, but it was played at Stallion Mountain G.C.
  • Jekyll Island Invitational (Jekyll Island, Ga., Jekyll Island G.C.): Took 22nd last season in this national competition.
  • SCIAC No. 2 (Mountain Meadows GC): At SCIAC No. 2 last season UR took third, which was also played at Mountain Meadows G.C.
  • SCIAC Championships (Olivas Links G.C.): Last season at home in Beaumont, Redlands took second overall.  Their last trip to Olivas Links G.C. was the California Sate Intercollegiate where they took second in the fall. 
  • NCAA Championships (Nicholasville, Ky., Keene Trace GC): The Bulldogs will be looking to make their first NCAA Championship Appearance since 2019 when the tournament was also hosted at Keene Trace G.C. That year they finished No. 17.
