Bulldog Men’s Golf takes 2nd at CA State Intercollegiate | Joshua Fambro earns Medalist Honors

VENTURA, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Golf team made a comeback on the final day of the CA State Intercollegiate, moving up three spots between Rounds 2 & 3 shooting -6 under as a team, but came up short to The Master's University (849) finishing 2nd overall.

The Bulldogs took on Olivas Links Golf Club playing two rounds on Day 1 with team scores of 285-293.  Across the final 18 they would shoot a 282 finishing at -4 under for the event (860), while jumping California Lutheran University (3rd – 862) and St. Thomas (TX) (4th – 866).  Other schools they beat included Pomona-Pitzer (5th – 867), Occidental College (6th – 870), Uni. of La Verne (7th – 873), Chapman University (8th – 874), Westmont College (9th – 879), and George Fox University (10th – 922).

Joshua Fambro (Taos, NM) led the Maroon and Grey finding himself atop the leaderboard after Round 1, following a 68.  He remained atop the pack with a 71 in Round 2 and despite shooting -2 under (70) over his final round, it wasn't enough to pull off the individual title as he would finish in a tie for 2nd (209 (68-71-70).               

Junior transfer Aaron Buck (Lake Oswego, OR) made his debut for the Bulldogs and was the second finisher posting a 72-71-73 (216) that placed him in a tie for 17th.

Spencer Leader (Oakland, CA), who got off to a slow start following a 73-76 was forced to play catch-up.  He posted a -2 under 70 across his final 18, which bumped him up 22 spots into a tie for 22nd.  He joined Jake Yim (Lake Oswego, OR), who also moved up, but just five spots on the final day.  He put together a pair of 72's along with a 75 (219).

University of La Verne transfer Zane Mularski (Spokane, WA) made his debut with the Bulldogs as well and after a 74-78 would also be forced to make up ground, which he did with a -2 under 70 that bumped him up 13 spots into 32nd.

Connor Tran (Gilroy, CA) was the last Bulldog to score, playing as an individual.  He finished in a tie for 53rd going 77-79-76.
