No. 23 U of R Men's Golf Tied-for-First After Opening Round of SCIAC Championships

On the first day of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championship Tournament, the No. 23 University of Redlands men's golf team finished tied-for-first with Chapman University with a round-one score of 301 on Sunday afternoon at the Los Serranos Golf Club in Chino Hills. The Bulldogs led the field shooting a minus-one on par fives and totaling 12 birdies.

On the individual leaderboards, sophomore Joshua Fambro (Taos, NM) sits in a three-way tie for first, entering the clubhouse with a 73. Fambro leads the way with 13 pars and averages a 3.80 on par fours.

Juniors Jared Stone (American Canyon, CA) and Kyle Sharp (Laguna Beach, CA) signed their scorecards with a 75 and 76 to land tied-for-fifth and tied-for-seventh, respectively. They are both shooting plus-one on par three and par four holes, while Stone registered pars and Sharp four birdies.

Juniors Ryan Crema (Surrey, England) and Connor Tran (Gilroy, CA) rounded out the Bulldog men's golfers finished in 10th and tied-for-15th. Crema shot a 77 and led the competition, shooting minus-three on par fives for a 4.25 average and also recorded three birdies. Tran ended the opening round with an 82 and shot one-under on par fives.
