No. 22 Bulldog Men's Golf Wins Opening SCIAC Tournament

The No. 22 University of Redlands men's golf team landed atop the competition at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 1 on Saturday and Sunday to win the event by 17 strokes. The Bulldogs shot a 294 on day one and then shaved off three strokes for a 291 and 585 two-day total.

Junior Kyle Sharp (Laguna Beach, CA) and sophomore Joshua Fambro (Taos, NM) landed a one-two punch for first and second place with scores of 140 and 141, respectively. Both golfers improved upon their day one round as Sharp knocked off two strokes for a 71-69 while Fambro shaved five strokes off for a 73-68 tally. They were also the only two to record scores in the 60s and registered 10 birdies each.

Staying consistent over each day, junior Jared Stone (American Canyon, CA) placed fourth with a grand total of 149 (74-75). He dazzled with six birdies over the two days, twice on the 15th hole.

Juniors Connor Tran (Gilroy, CA) and Ryan Crema (Surrey, England) rounded out the Bulldog golfers with scores of 155 (76-79) and 160 (81-79).

Redlands heads to Moorpark Golf Course on Monday, March 15, and Tuesday, March 16, for the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen Invitational.
