Redlands Men's Golf Enters 2021 Season Ranked No. 22 in NCAA Division III

Redlands Men's Golf Enters 2021 Season Ranked No. 22 in NCAA Division III

It was announced on Friday that the University of Redlands men's golf team begins the 2021 campaign with a national ranking of tied-for-22nd on the NCAA Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.

The Bulldogs look to build upon the shortened 2020 season with a young but talented returning core of competitors.  The experience of juniors Ben Cowan (Cleveland, OH), Kyle Sharp (Laguna Beach, CA), and Connor Tran (Gilroy, CA), and sophomore Joshua Fambro (Taos, NM) bodes well for a successful season. Both Sharp and Fambro impressed at last year's CSUSB's Coyote Classic by averaging 4.58 and 4.67, respectively, on par-five holes. Sharp also tallied 29 pars, eight birdies, and two eagles. This duo also finished among the top five at the SCIAC No. 1 Tournament last season, with Fambro impressively recording seven birdies and 21 pars.

The Bulldogs also welcome juniors Ryan Crema (Surrey, England) and Jared Stone (American Canyon, CA), sophomore Jay Briggs Jr. (Columbus, OH), and first-years Chance Mitchell (Temecula, CA) and Ethan Weissman (Encinitas, CA), as likely contributors for continued success.

Despite the pandemic, Redlands men's golf hopes to enjoy competitive opportunities this spring, with a schedule yet to be announced.
