Junior Cade Lawson Tabbed SCIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week

Cade Lawson received the SCIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week honor on April 2.

Junior Cade Lawson (Lake Oswego, OR) of the University of Redlands has been named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week. This honor comes after his tied-for-second-place finish at the 2018 West Cup at Sierra La Verne Country Club last Monday and Tuesday.

He signed his scorecard with a 217 at the end of the tournament, which was only one stroke behind the leader. After shooting a 75 in the first round, he improved on the next 18 holes with a 73 and then closed out the event with a dazzling 69 for a tournament-low score. Overall, he led the field with 11 birdies over the three rounds and scored in the top 20 with 31 pars. He shot even on par threes and minus two on par fives.

Junior midfielder Hanna Morford (West Linn, OR) joins Lawson as Redlands' second athlete of the week for March 26-April 1, with Morford gaining the honor for women's lacrosse.

Lawson and the Bulldog men's golf team look forward to competing in the SCIAC Tournament No. 2 on Saturday, April 7, and Sunday, April 8, at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena.
