No. 22 Bulldog Men's Golf Takes 12th at High-Caliber CSUSM Fujikura Invitational

The No. 22 University of Redlands men's golf team returned to action for the first time this spring by competing in the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational at Shadowridge Country Club in Vista on Monday and Tuesday.  While taking on various NCAA Division II and III schools, the Bulldogs put together a 54-hole score of 921 (315-302-304) to finish 12th in the team standings.

Junior Cade Lawson (Lake Oswego, OR) paced the Maroon and Gray by signing his scorecard with a 227 to tie for 23rd while improving each round to finish the event with a 72.  He notched 13 birdies over the two days to rank third among the competitive field.

Junior Alex Stroes (San Marcos, CA) provided steady numbers of 78-75-76 to earn a tally of 229, which included 33 pars over the three rounds.

Sophomore Cameron Cooper (Seattle, WA) added a 232 (81-74-77), while sophomore Jake Hollander (Peterborough, NH) closely followed at 233 (78-76-79).

Sophomore Dylan Merchant (Ellsworth, WI) completed the Bulldogs' quintet with a 253 (82-85-86).

Redlands gears up for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 1, which takes place on Saturday, February 17, and Sunday, February 18, at Olivas Links Golf Club in Ventura.
