The No. 22 University of Redlands men's golf team traveled north to Rohnert Park to play in the Sonoma State Invitational at Foxtail Golf Course on October 10 and 11.  In their first non-conference tournament of the fall season, the Bulldogs faced seven NCAA Division II schools, one NAIA opponent, and one Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) school. After three rounds of play, Redlands finished in eighth place with a final team score of 913 (302-302-309).

Freshman Carter Tillotson (Kenmore, WA) tied for 18th with the Bulldogs' lowest overall score of 223 (71-74-78). Tillotson completed the 54 holes with 10 birdies to rank second on the squad behind individual competitor junior Joseph Kuehn (Eugene, OR), who paced the team with 13 birdies. Kuehn had a stellar first round by shooting a 67 en route to his three-round total of 230 to finish in a tie for 32nd overall.

Also tying for 32nd, junior George Galanis (Glencoe, IL) shot solid and consistent scores over the three rounds by carding 77-76-77.  He shot 33 pars at the event, which was just four shy of Redlands' par-leader sophomore Cade Lawson (Lake Oswego, OR), who had 37.

Lawson registered a final total of 232 (76-76-80) to tie for 39th place, along with freshman Robert Case (San Diego, CA). Case shaved off six strokes from his opening 82 and later bettered that tally with a final-round score of 74.

Rounding out the tournament for the Maroon and Gray, sophomore Alex Stroes (San Marcos, CA) provided solid scores of 78, 78, and 82.

The Bulldogs continue their fall season, as they travel south to San Marcos to compete in the CSU San Marcos Fall Classic on October 24 and 25. The two-day tournament will be played at Vista Valley Country Club.
