The No. 1 University of Redlands men's golf team took care of business at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 2 on Saturday and Sunday by notching a winning score of 573 as the only team to finish under par.  The Bulldogs gained four players among the top 10 at the tournament, with senior Bobby Holden (Simi Valley, CA) leading the charge with his second-place showing.

Holden finished at six under with rounds of 68 and 70 for a total of 138, which was just two strokes behind the medalist from Cal Lutheran University.

While providing incredible consistency, junior John McCord (Oakland, CA) tied for fifth in the individual standings by shooting one-under-par at 143 (70-73), while senior Anthony Estes (San Pedro, CA) closely followed in a tie for seventh place with a two-round total of 145 (72-73).

Junior Ryan Turner (Ventura, CA) completed the Bulldogs' top performances with his score of 148 (73-75), which placed him in a tie for 10th.

In addition, freshman Jake Ryan (Portland, OR) signed his scorecard with a 151 (72-79) and junior Matthew Sandoval (Redlands, CA) came off the course on Sunday with a two-round tally of 153 (78-75).

With the lowest aggregate score determining the conference champion, the Maroon and Gray now boasts a score of 1,172 over the two SCIAC tournaments for a 30-stroke advantage over second-place University of La Verne.  Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges sits 31 shots behind the Bulldogs, while Cal Lutheran rounds out the conference's top four with a 35-stroke deficit.

Redlands looks forward to competing in the three-day SCIAC Championship Tournament, beginning on Sunday, April 26, at Oak Valley Golf Course.
