The ninth-ranked University of Redlands men’s golf team
fared well on its home turf, tying No. 13 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Colleges for first at the Southern California Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (SCIAC) 18-hole No. 5 on Thursday at the
Redlands Country Club.
Both teams amassed an aggregate stroke total of 280. The

Junior Ross Canavan (Redlands, CA) shot two strokes under par,
tying Kevin Smith of La Verne for the event’s top individual
score (68). Canavan’s performance marked the first time this
season that a Bulldog has captured at least a share of first.
Also shooting under par for the afternoon, sophomore Scott
Peña (Encinitas, CA) posted a 69 and finished out the 18
holes one stroke under par.

16th-place score of 73.
On Monday, the Bulldogs compete in the 36-hole SCIAC Championship
