The University of Redlands hired Jesse Simpson to Eric Bridgeland’s men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant in September 2022.

Simpson comes to the Bulldogs from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah where he has been assistant coach since 2021. Prior to that he was the head coach and trainer for AAU team, Oro Valley Basketball Academy from 2019-2021. 

In 2020, Simpson became an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and has spent time as a personal training manager at VASA Fitness since 2019.

Other prior coaching experience includes two stints with Pusch Ridge Christian Academy from 2013-16 and 2018-21 where he served as the JV head coach and varsity assistant coach. 

Simpson graduated from the University of Arizona in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports and Society. Along with his personal training certification, he earned his Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification in 2022. 

As a player, Simpson played at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts from 2011-12. He played in three games during his only season for the Falcons. After college, he played in Girona, Spain from 2016-17.

Simpson joins Cory Coombe, who will be in his second year with the Bulldogs, as the second assistant for head coach Bridgeland.
