SCIAC Men's Basketball Weekly Release No. 12

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Men's Basketball Athletes of the Week in the twelfth week of voting and University of Redlands sophomore forward Nathaniel Johnson (Seattle, WA) was selected as the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.

Johnson was his usual disruptive presence on the defensive end of the court for the University of Redlands, which split a decisive win at Caltech and a close loss to RV Pomona-Pitzer.  He racked up another seven blocks and two steals while grabbing 13 rebounds and committing just two fouls as the Bulldogs limited Caltech to just 50 points and kept within striking distance of the preseason No. 12 Sagehens all game in an eventual four-point defeat.

Redlands returns to the court this Wednesday night, February 8 when they welcome in Whittier college beginning at 7:00pm.
