Following a tight loss on Saturday, the Redlands men's basketball team headed to La Verne for a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) matchup determined to flip the result. The team came out focused and energetic, shooting 49.3% from the field and 72.7% from the charity stripe to take the game with a 22-point margin, 80-58.

The Bulldogs got off to quick start as first-year forward Griffin Barker (Kirkland, WA) snagged his first of 13 rebounds and assisted senior forward David Menary's (Grass Valley, CA) ensuing jumper. Redlands continued to be a force in the paint, as Barker and senior guard Hass Berry (Riverside, CA) hauled in two offensive boards that Berry turned into points to make it 4-0 just over a minute in.

However, the Leopards knocked down a three after an early timeout to cut the deficit to one. Nonetheless, Redlands went on an 8-0 run to build the lead back up. Four different Bulldogs made a bucket in the two-minute span for a 12-3 lead at the 12:54-minute mark.

Barker continued to put himself in position to score with a nifty tip-in and two layups over the next three minutes.

Although La Verne managed to stay in the game, Redlands continued to hold at least a four-point lead at all times. With 7:56 left in the first, junior guard Jack Roggin (Toluca Lake, CA) and D. Menary hit back-to-back triples to extend the Bulldogs lead to double-digits, 24-14.

Down the stretch junior forward Parker Landolf (Alamo, CA) and junior guard Vincenzo Ferrari (Burlingame, CA) combined for all 13 of Redlands' points in the final five minutes of the period to head to halftime with a 41-25 lead.

The first three minutes of the second got off to a slow start as the teams traded free-throws. Barker then bookended a 6-2 run with a pair of buckets for a 48-32 score.

Starting at 14:22, D. Menary lit up the scoreboard over the next three minutes with 11 straight points for the Bulldogs for a 63-40 lead.

With two minutes left in the game, Redlands leaned on its bench to close out the commanding victory. First-year guard Aiden Williams (Portland, OR) subsequently hit a trey-ball at the 1:35-minute mark for a 29-point lead at 80-51. The Leopards scored the last couple of baskets of the game but Redlands held on to its 80-58 win.

Barker ended the game with a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. D. Menary led the team with 17 points while Ferrari and senior guard Brittian Foster (Long Beach, CA) also chipped in double-figures with 13 points each.

The team scored 46 points in the paint and 24 points off turnovers. Redlands bench also outscored La Verne 37-19.

The Bulldogs (9-3, 2-1 SCIAC) head to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Saturday, January 11 for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
