The University of Redlands men's basketball traveled to Concordia University – Irvine on Tuesday night for an exhibition match against the Eagles. Despite shooting a solid 51.9% from the field, the Bulldogs were no match for the home team's high-flying, long-range offense that included 17 three-pointers and resulted in an 85-128 loss.

Redlands led early with junior forward Aljosa Bjekovic (Maribor, Slovenia) knocking down the team's opening basket.  He provided 11 of the Bulldogs' first 13 points, propelling the Maroon and Gray to a 13-10 advantage with 16:17 left in the first half.  He finished the night a team-high 19 points, which came off of 5-for-10 shooting.

However, the Eagles unleashed their three-point attack throughout the next 14 minutes en route to a 28-point lead at the break and never looked back.

Senior guard Connor Griffin (San Ramon, CA) was the only other Bulldog to score in double figures with his 11-point showing.

While utilizing 14 players, Redlands saw all but one chip in at least one point.  Sophomore forward Zack Whittet (Palm Desert, CA) impressed with his 4-for-5 performance for nine points while also dishing out three assists.

Redlands looks forward to the official opening of the 2014-15 season when it travels to Santa Cruz for a pair of games on Nov. 16-17.  The Bulldogs tip of against the University of Dallas (TX) and the host school at 1 p.m. both days.
