Bulldog Men's Basketball Celebrates Seniors with 91-65 Victory over Caltech

The University of Redlands men's basketball team finished out the regular season with a senior-laden performance that included double-digit scoring from all four honorees en route to a 91-65 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) victory over the visiting Beavers of Caltech.

After recognizing the senior class of center Jack Colston (Dana Point, CA), center Ronnie Williams (Ventura, CA), forward Stephen Call (Portola Valley, CA), and guard Mychal Estrada (Redlands, CA), the Bulldogs erupted for 50 first-half points while shooting 59.4% to shut down the Beavers.

The Maroon and Gray continued to cruise with all 16 players of its roster making contributions in the win. All but four Bulldogs scored at least one point.

Estrada highlighted the night's celebration with a career-tying 21 points on seven three-pointers. During a span of less than three minutes in the second half, he fired off four long balls in a row, inspiring the home crowd. He also finished within one rebound of a double-double.

In addition, Williams posted a career-high 12 points to go along with five rebounds and two blocks. Colston recorded his ninth double-double of the season, scoring 14 points and pulling in 12 rebounds, while Call chipped in 13 points and dished out three assists.

Overall, the Bulldogs shot 50% from the field, which included a 40% clip from beyond the arc.

Caltech (5-20, 0-14 SCIAC) gained double figures from three players, headlined by junior guard Collin Murphy's (Wasilla, AK) 15-point effort.

With tonight's win, Redlands (13-12, 8-6 SCIAC) enters the 2012 SCIAC Postseason Tournament as the No. 4 seed and heads to top-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges for Friday's 7:30 p.m. semifinal match.
