The University of Redlands men’s basketball team traveled
to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Wednesday night, falling to
the Stags by a score of 49-64.
CMS jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead and then pulled head by 13
points with nine minutes to play in the first half. The Bulldogs
fought back and cut the lead to five with 3:27 to go. Midway
through the second half, Redlands appeared in position to overtake
the Stags, trailing by just one point at 46-47. Following a
three-minute cold streak by both teams, CMS put together a 13-0 run
to finish the game and hand the Bulldogs a tough 49-64 loss.
Sophomore forward Matt Dietrich (Phoenix, AZ) led the Bulldogs with
11 points, while senior forward Travis Miller (Coto de Caza, CA)
chipped in eight points.
Redlands (6-13, 2-6 SCIAC) looks to rebound on Saturday night with
a 7:30 p.m. game against the Poets of Whittier College in Currier
Gym. Saturday’s conference doubleheader with the women also
includes Take a Kid to the Game Night, where all adults accompanied
by a child receive free admission. Halftime games and prizes will
be provided for the children.
