2022 University of Redlands Football Schedule
REDLANDS, Calif. - The University of Redlands Football team heads into the 2022 season looking to build off a strong 2021 campaign where they finished 8-2, 6-0 SCIAC, which included a six-game winning streak to end the regular season, while winning the SCIAC Championship Title qualifying them for the NCAA Division III National Championships.
Thanks to their fifth straight winning season, the Bulldogs have earned a Pre-Season National Ranking according to the CFB Network, coming in at No. 21.
Of their eight wins in 2021, the University of Redlands won six of them by double-digits. In their win against Whittier College (Nov. 6) they scored 65 points which tied them for the ninth most points in a single game in school history. In the game against the Poets, they scored nine touchdowns which is tied for the sixth most in a single game. The U of R had the sixth highest scoring season in program history with 360 points, scored the third most touchdowns in a single season with 48, and totaled eight picks, which ranks them eleventh. From an individual perspective, 12 players were named to the All-SCIAC teams, Head Coach Jim Good and his staff were named the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year, and former quarterback Nathan Martinez was voted the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Year.
Five different Bulldogs set single-season individual records with Martinez completing 67.1 percent of his throws, good for third highest. Safety Scott Tinsley recorded six interceptions which put him in a tie for eighth most in school history and the third most since 2010. Jadin Michaels posted the ninth most passes defended with eleven, which included nine pass break-ups and two interceptions. Receiver Khory Day had the seventh best punt return average at 15.4 and setting another record in special teams was Giovanni Isles who had a 31.6 kickoff return average, the seventh highest in program history.
