Jim Good and Staff named SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year

2021 Football All-SCIAC Teams

REDLANDS, Calif. – The 2021 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Football teams were announced recently following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches.

University of Redlands Head Football Coach Jim Good and his staff were recognized as the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year joining senior Quarterback Nathan Martinez (Offensive Athlete of the Year) with post-season accolades.  His coaching staff this season included:

Joey Mariani (Assoc. Head Coach/Director of Football Operations/Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers)

David Lord (Recruiting Coordinator/Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Line)

Brent Baier (Tight Ends)

Angela Baker (Kickers & Punters/Special Teams/Defensive Quality Control)

Terrell Davis (Corners)

Tommy Garcia (Assistant Offensive Line Coach)

Bai Kabba (Defensive Backs Coach / Video Coordinator)

Ric Lucore Jr. (Asst. Director of Operations/Offensive Line)

Matt Moore (Wide Receivers/Assistant Recruiting Coordinator)

Craig Robbins (Running Backs)

Charlie Yaeger IV (Assistant Receivers Coach)       

In his first season at the helm of the program, Coach Good and his assistant coaches guided the Bulldogs to an 8-1 overall ledger and a 6-0 mark in SCIAC play.  The Maroon and Grey won the 2021 SCIAC Championship title, the 32nd in the program history and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships.   

The University of Redlands averaged 431.8 yards per game, including 224.0 passing yards per contest, and 207.8 rushing yards per outing against league opposition en route to averaging 42.7 points per game. Defensively, the Bulldogs allowed 315.7 yards per conference game, including 214.7 yards through the air, and 101.0 yards on the ground, while allowing just 19.8 points per game.

This year Coach Good saw 12 student-athletes earn All-SCIAC recognition, 11 players picked for SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors, three players named CoSIDA Academic All-District, and Scott Tinsley selected to the d3football.com Team of the Week.
