Junior Quarterback Levi Plante Honored as SCIAC Football Athlete of the Week

It was announced earlier today that junior quarterback Levi Plante (Lake Arrowhead, CA) of the University of Redlands was selected as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Football Athlete of the Week for his contributions in the Bulldogs' 42-25 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.

Against the Stags, Plante completed 21 out of 34 passes for a completion percentage of 61.8%.  He amassed nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns through the air while connecting with five different receivers.  He also paced the Maroon and Gray with 143 rushing yards on 15 carries, which included a long rush of 67 yards during the Bulldogs' 17-point fourth quarter.

After moving into the starting role, Plante owns a quarterback efficiency rating of 164.5 and sits 26 yards shy of 1,000 passing yards.

Following junior kicker Nathan Hierlihy's (Redondo Beach, CA) award, this marks Redlands football's second athlete of the week for the current season.
