Aaron Mandell Reels in JSR College Football All-America Nod

It was recently announced that senior defensive back Aaron Mandell (Seattle, WA) of the University of Redlands football team was named to the 2016 Jewish Sports Review College Football All-America Team.   He was one of 11 NCAA Division III student-athletes to be selected to the 22-man roster.

Mandell played an integral role in the Bulldogs' undefeated Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) run that culminated in the program's eighth NCAA appearance under Head Coach Mike Maynard.  As a starter, Mandell recorded 20 total tackles, including 13 solo hits.  He recovered two fumbles for 40 yards and hauled in one interception for seven yards.  He was credited with five pass break-ups.  In addition, he registered one punt return for 28 yards.

In order to be considered for this honor, the student-athlete must identify as Jewish by heritage or ethnicity while not practicing any other faith.
