Junior Aaron Mandell Selected to Jewish Sports Review College Football All-America Team

It was recently announced that junior defensive back Aaron Mandell (Seattle, WA) of the University of Redlands football team was named to the 2015 Jewish Sports Review College All-America Team, which includes players from NCAA Division I-A, I-AA, II, and III schools.

During the past season, Mandell competed in all nine games, earning 22 solo tackles and 22 assists. He also registered one tackle for a loss of three yards.  He led the team with four interceptions for a total of 122 return yards, including a pick-six for 31 yards in the Bulldogs' 59-7 thrashing of Whittier College on October 31.  He also registered seven pass break-ups during the season.

In order to qualify for this honor, an athlete must have at least one Jewish parent, not practice another faith, and identify ethnically as a Jew.  The Jewish Sports Review has been around since June 1997 and is only available through paid subscriptions.

Mandell and the Bulldog football team look forward the 2016 season, which kicks off on Saturday, September 3, in San Antonio, Texas, against Trinity University (TX).
