Following a 2008 season that culminated in a 7-2 record (4-2
Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference), the
Bulldogs received their second College Division Team of the Year
selection in as many years, as awarded by the San Bernardino County
chapter of the National Football Foundation.
Redlands fielded one of the stingiest defenses in the nation as the
Maroon and Gray ranked first in NCAA Division III in tackles for
loss, rush defense and net punting.
San Bernardino County, the largest county in the United States by
area and larger in mass than nine states, boasts three junior
colleges, one university and more than fifty high school football
programs. Founded in 2004, the 45 members of the San Bernardino
County chapter and Chapter President Jeffrey Johnston take
advantage of the strong football ties in the community to fulfill
their mission of promoting amateur football.
