Tyler Reiter and Max Clark selected to ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Teams

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Release

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced the 2023 All-Region teams and making the Region 10 2nd Team was starting pitcher Tyler Reiter (San Diego, CA) and making the 3rd Team was third baseman Max Clark (Rancho Cucamonga, CA).

Reiter lands on an ABCA All-Region team for the first time in his career. He led all Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) pitchers in earned run average (ERA) at 1.46, 0.89 better than second place and had the fifth lowest in single-season program history. He started 11 games and threw 74 innings.

His seven wins are tied for second most in SCIAC with the leader having started five more games. Reiter also added four complete games, the ninth most in program history and the most in the conference. Reiter will return in 2024 for an extra year of eligibility.

Clark also makes an ABCA All-Region team for the first time as he was named to the 3rd Team after posting career-highs in batting average (.346), on-base percentage (.447), slugging percentage (.685), extra-base hits (23), triples (3), hits, (45), runs scored (45), stolen bases (8), and walks (23). He also added nine home runs.

He ranked 17th among SCIAC players in batting average, 12th in on-base percentage, fifth in slugging percentage, fifth in extra-base hits, fifth in triples, fourth in home runs, fourth in runs scored, 11th in stolen bases, and 13th in walks. His nine home runs are the sixth most in single-season history, and he also holds the fourth spot with 10 home runs from 2022.

After no all-region members from 2019-2021, the Bulldogs have ABCA/Rawlings All-Region representation from the last two seasons and dating back to 2003 at least one player has received ABCA honors in 14 of the 20 seasons (no awards given in 2020 due to COVID-19).
