SCIAC Baseball Weekly Release No. 2

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Baseball Athletes of the Week in the second week of voting and University of Redlands first year first baseman Cade McClelland (Mission Viejo, CA) was named the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week.

In Redlands' 1-1 week that featured a split with Division II Cal State Los Angeles McClelland was the Bulldogs' leader on offense. After falling in game one, 15-5, McClelland led the Bulldogs to victory in game two (13-12) when he delivered a game-tying RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth. He was then up in the 10th with the bases loaded and connected for a walk-off base hit. He finished 5-for-7 (.714) with three RBI's.    

Redlands returns to the diamond this Saturday, February 19 when they travel to take on St. Katherine University for an exhibition doubleheader.  First pitches slated for 2:00pm and 5:30pm.  Both games will be played at Escondido High School.
